"Escaping the Fire"
Again, I'm usually happiest with a painting when I do it quickly, without much forethought or planning. Plopping some paint on canvas or paper, and pushing them around quickly, with a scrape here or there, seems to work well for me.

Four New Paintings in Two Days
I've been a little busy!
First, I'm still trying to experiment and learn abstract techniques, so I did this small piece. 'Downtown', acrylic on canvas board
I redecorated my bedroom in shades of gray, yellow and cream and needed some new art. So I painted these two. Untitled, acrylic on stretched canvas.
And finally today, still trying to get better at abstraction. Acrylic on canvas board
I'm finding that I need bigger brushes for the abstracts, and I need some more paints!

Starting an Abstract
I've always loved abstract paintings, but I have found them difficult to get right when I try. But I think I've gained enough knowledge and experience to really dive into it. This is the start of my first real attempt. There's a concept and a title, but I'll wait until I'm finished to share those.

Pastel
I generally prefer to use smooth papers when I use soft pastels, but I had some textured pastel paper laying around and decided to have a go at it.

Another Landscape...
Sometimes these pretty landscapes get stuck in my head and I must get them out on canvas so I can move on to something else.

Something a bit darker...
Not sure if I'm finished with this yet, but I wanted to do some darker pieces. Working title is 'Something Wicked...' India inks on canvas board
