We haven't had any snow here yet, in fact it's been unseasonable warm.  So my thoughts have been about snowscapes.  Just a pleasant little scene.

Coloring Books for Adults and Artists

I didn't even know such a thing existed, but once I found out, I had to order some for myself.  These arrived today.  I think they will be good art practice, as well as good for the mind and soul!

A Winter Scene

I'd been thinking of fairy tales I loved as a child, and The Snow Queen was one.  I was picturing a dark, magical snowy scene, and that's what I created here.  Mixture of acrylics for the base, topped with India inks, on a small canvas board.

I've always been creative and artistic, but I didn't seriously start to pursue it until 5 years ago.  I now have a small studio in my home, I've sold quite a few pieces, had some of my work auctioned for charities, and for awhile I had an Etsy and ebay store.

I try to paint at least a little every day.  My mediums vary, as do my papers and canvas size.  I've been operating under the name SicStudio, which is a play on my last name and an idea that my Dad and I came up with years ago.  My studio email is sicstudio@aol.com
